Soil Mix “FOR ORCHIDS”

Unit of measurement: 3.5 L

Composition:

• Larch bark 80 %;
• Leaf compost 15 %;
• Brown peat 5 %.

This soil mix took the longest period to create − from its conception to the final product. It was influenced by numerous searches for the optimal composition and raw materials that contained the appropriate characteristics. Finally, these materials were found, and the growth trials perfectly proved the efficacy of the main ingredient: shredded and sieved larch bark grown in the Alps.

A small part of the tree leaf compost provides a natural source of nutrients; while the raised bog peat improves the ability of soil to absorb moisture and quickly deliver it to the plant.

Most commercially offered orchid species will grow well in this soil mix, but it is not suitable for the Cymbidium group of orchids, which like a heavier soil.
